Stand with Saint Teresa of Calcutta as a witness that all human lives are "living love," that is, beings made of, by, and for love.
Mother Teresa was a tremendous pro-life witness, showing thorough signs of love by her presence and by her thoughts. In one instance, Mother Teresa spoke against abortion and contraception by saying: "In destroying the power of giving life, through contraception, a husband or wife is doing something to self. This turns the attention to self and so it destroys the gift of love in him or her. In loving, the husband and wife must turn the attention to each other as happens in natural family planning, and not to self, as happens in contraception. Once that living love is destroyed by contraception, abortion follows very easily." Saint Teresa of Calcutta indicates the real danger of pride/selfishness that happens when you are concerned for yourself before others. Love does not concentrate on oneself; love focuses outward to others, even toward potential others through the marital act. In this way, humans cooperate with the Divine in making life of, by, and for love. We are all "living love," fulfilled by nurturing other "living love." Do what you are made of: Live love.
